Areta has just launched the ICP Builder Audit Marketplace, a platform that aims to make the audit process for smart contracts more transparent and efficient. Developers working in the ICP ecosystem will now be able to request multiple audit quotes more quickly and at lower cost.
Here’s what the marketplace offers: users submit their audit scope via a guided flow or by uploading their requirements. Whitelisted auditing firms—among them Chainsecurity, Hacken, Oak Security, Quantstamp, Beosin, Adevar Labs, Vidma.io and Serokell—then compete by offering quotes. Builders can expect 6-8 proposals per request, with the first offers arriving within around 42 hours. The platform standardises terms and tracks audits so that the process is more predictable and less fragmented.
One of the biggest changes is price transparency. Builders will be able to compare different proposals openly, which could reduce audit costs by about 30 per cent. The hope is that competition among auditors drives better value while maintaining high standards.
That said, there are challenges. Quality control remains critical when multiple firms bid for the same work. Ensuring that auditors deliver consistent standards, especially under competitive pressure, could be difficult. Developers will need to assess not just cost and speed but also the experience and reputation of the auditor.
Overall, the ICP Builder Audit Marketplace seems positioned to help developers who want faster, clearer audit processes without compromising on security. It offers a new route for getting audits done—and may force parts of the audit-industry to adapt.
If you’re building on ICP and preparing a project for launch or scaling, this may be worth checking out.
