Base Network Launches 8-Week Blockchain Developer Training Course

In a move to bridge the gap between traditional software development and the booming world of blockchain, Ethereum layer-2 Base network has unveiled its latest initiative—Base Bootcamp. This eight-week training course aims to transform mid to senior-level Software Engineering contributors into proficient blockchain developers.

Base Bootcamp promises a comprehensive learning experience, offering accepted students a series of unique features. Participants will engage in weekly meetings with experienced mentors, providing invaluable guidance throughout the learning process. A dedicated Discord server fosters a collaborative environment for community building, allowing participants to connect, share insights, and seek assistance from peers and mentors. Enrolled students gain privileged access to Coinbase and Base engineers, enhancing their learning experience with real-world insights and practical knowledge.

While the course is open to all, Base Bootcamp specifically targets mid to senior-level Software Engineering individual contributors. Prospective students must complete an application process, with less than 20 students accepted into each exclusive cohort. The application window closes on October 27, underscoring the program’s selective nature.

In its official announcement, Base network highlights the pressing need for skilled blockchain developers. Despite the rapid growth of Web3 applications, there is a significant shortage of onchain developers. According to Base, “Today, there are fewer than 30,000 onchain developers compared to nearly 30 million software developers.” This startling statistic underscores the urgency to equip traditional developers with the skills required for the evolving landscape of blockchain technology.

Earlier this year, Base network introduced “Base Camp,” an online training program accessible to anyone interested in blockchain development. Recognizing the challenges faced by individuals learning independently, Base Bootcamp has been introduced to provide additional support and foster a sense of community among developers.

As the blockchain revolution continues to reshape industries, initiatives like Base Bootcamp play a pivotal role in ensuring a skilled workforce is prepared to meet the demands of this dynamic sector. With the application deadline looming, aspiring blockchain developers are encouraged to seize this opportunity for a transformative learning experience.
