BaseCamp aims to be ICP’s all-in-one home for Web3

A new project called BaseCamp has launched on the Internet Computer (ICP), pitching itself as a one-stop home for users who want to move away from the grip of traditional tech giants like Google, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

The app ties together a range of decentralised tools built on ICP, offering users a single point of access to email through Dmail, search via Querio, messaging and forums through OpenChat, and finance tools like ICPSwap, KongSwap and GoldDAO for trading and staking. It even includes Stripe integration for on- and off-ramping, and links to Oisy, a multi-chain wallet.

One of BaseCamp’s standout features is its link to Caffeine AI, which lets users create and deploy their own AI agents directly within the ecosystem. The platform also supports uploading, storing and sharing photos, videos and files without relying on centralised cloud services.

The tone from its early users captures what makes this effort different. As one put it, it’s “pretty cool for a bass player with zero coding ability” — a nod to how ICP’s ecosystem has been evolving to make decentralised tech more accessible to non-developers.

While the app’s decentralised architecture aligns with ICP’s long-standing mission to build a more open and censorship-resistant internet, its success will depend on how well it draws in mainstream users and builders seeking credible alternatives to Web2 infrastructure. For now, BaseCamp gives that idea a practical, all-in-one face.

Dear Reader,

Ledger Life is an independent platform dedicated to covering the Internet Computer (ICP) ecosystem and beyond. We focus on real stories, builder updates, project launches, and the quiet innovations that often get missed.

We’re not backed by sponsors. We rely on readers like you.
