Bittensor has released version 431, a major update focused on improving security, transparency and operational tools for its decentralised network.
The update introduces new security features designed to help teams manage organisations, subnets and interactions between humans and AI agents through stronger approval controls. A key addition is support for k-of-n multisig operations through the btcli multisig command group, allowing users to create workflows where multiple approvals are required before actions are completed.
Bittensor said the changes are part of its broader goal of building infrastructure where decentralised autonomous organisations can increasingly be managed with the support of large language models while remaining controlled by human participants.
The new tooling allows teams to approve, execute and cancel multisig actions more easily, while additional protections can be added through hardware wallets, QR signers and extensions such as Talisman and Crucible.
Alongside security improvements, version 431 brings performance upgrades across the network. Developers can now mine, validate and operate subnets using Rust-based tooling, a change aimed at improving the speed and efficiency of interactions across the Bittensor ecosystem.
The team said faster network operations could help markets built around artificial intelligence systems respond more quickly as developers continue creating new subnet applications.
The release also includes the full launch of Conviction, a feature that introduces stake-lock mechanisms and gives subnet holders, or authorised AI agents acting on their behalf, greater control over mature subnets.
Bittensor’s developers believe blockchain networks can provide a foundation for AI systems that need transparent ways to exchange value, coordinate tasks and participate in digital economies. The latest update focuses on making that infrastructure easier to secure and operate as more AI-driven applications emerge.
