Caffeine AI launches New Year Promptathon with $10,000 in prizes

Caffeine AI is inviting creators to take part in its next promptathon, starting January 28, with a focus on self-improvement apps and a prize pool of $10,000. The week-long event gives participants the chance to build apps using Caffeine’s AI tools without needing any coding skills, offering a platform for creativity and practical innovation.

Promptathons are designed as fast-paced creative sprints, where participants can generate apps simply by interacting with Caffeine’s AI. This round encourages solutions that help users achieve personal goals in 2026, from learning a new language or establishing healthier routines to boosting productivity or mental wellbeing. Participants are free to explore any idea that can make self-improvement more accessible and engaging.

The format is intended to be inclusive. Anyone who signs up through the official form will receive free Caffeine credits, removing financial barriers and allowing participants to focus purely on creativity. Apps must be created and submitted within the one-week window, with all entries due by midnight PST on February 3.

Caffeine AI suggests looking to popular self-improvement apps for inspiration. Gamified platforms like Habitica make habit-building enjoyable, while Headspace offers guided meditation to support mental health. Forest uses visual cues to help maintain focus, MyFitnessPal tracks nutrition and exercise, and Duolingo turns language learning into a game-like experience. The common thread among these apps is their ability to take challenging tasks and make them approachable, visual, and engaging—an approach participants are encouraged to emulate.

Organisers encourage entrants to reflect on the challenges of the past year before starting. Struggling with routine, procrastination, or burnout could be the starting point for an app that offers practical solutions to everyday problems. The goal is to create tools that help people improve themselves while making the process enjoyable and rewarding.

With the start date just days away, participants are advised to plan their ideas and sign up early to access the full set of tools and credits. The promptathon represents an opportunity not only to develop innovative applications but also to contribute ideas that could positively impact others’ daily lives in the year ahead.
