Caffeine cuts app building time to around seven minutes

By Maria Irene · 5 Nov 2026

Caffeine has reduced the time it takes to build a typical new app on its platform to about seven minutes, down from nearly 18 minutes, in an update that the company says makes its app-building process 2.4 times faster.

The AI-powered platform says users can continue describing the app they want in natural language, with no change to the way they submit their requests. The difference is that the finished app is now ready sooner.

Caffeine allows users to create and update applications by explaining their requirements through a chat interface, rather than writing code manually. The platform generates the application and runs it on the Internet Computer (ICP) network.

The latest improvement could make the process more convenient for people who want to turn an idea into a working application without extensive programming knowledge. Faster build times may also help developers test ideas and make changes more quickly.

However, the seven-minute figure is presented as the typical build time by Caffeine. The company has not provided further details in the announcement about the testing conditions, the types of applications measured or how performance varies with more complex projects.

The update adds to Caffeine’s efforts to make AI-assisted application development faster and more accessible, as competition grows among platforms offering tools to build software through natural-language prompts.
