DAMONIC locks more than $8,000 in ICPSwap liquidity for one year

The DAMONIC project has locked a liquidity position worth more than $8,000 in the DAMONIC/ICP trading pool on ICPSwap for one year, according to an announcement shared by Sneed Lock.
The lock brings the total value locked through Sneed Lock to $10,000, the announcement states. Under the arrangement, the owner can add liquidity to the position and claim trading fees during the lock-up period, but cannot withdraw the tokens already committed until the one-year term ends.
Keeping liquidity locked can help reassure traders that a project’s committed pool funds cannot be withdrawn during the agreed period. However, a lock does not remove other risks associated with decentralised finance, including token price volatility, trading conditions and the possibility of losses.
Sneed Lock provides a service for time-locking tokens and ICPSwap liquidity positions. The announcement encourages other project founders and large token holders to consider locking liquidity, citing DAMONIC and BITTYICP as examples of projects that have used the service.
The DAMONIC position can be checked through Sneed Lock’s position verification page. The announcement also says users can access the service through Sneed Hub Wallet and describes the process as permissionless.
The $10,000 total reported by Sneed Lock reflects the value locked through its service, rather than the total liquidity available across the wider Internet Computer decentralised finance ecosystem. The announcement does not independently establish whether the new lock has led to increased trading activity or improved market liquidity.
The move offers a public commitment to keeping a portion of DAMONIC/ICP liquidity in place for a year. Its longer-term effect will depend on trading demand, the value of the assets involved and whether other projects follow with similar commitments.
