DOM Protocol has released a broad wallet update that adds encrypted messaging, portfolio tracking, utility tools and new on chain games, bringing communication, market tools and gaming features together within a single interface.
The update introduces a new Communication section that includes Messages and Siignal. Messages uses the Internet Computer’s vetKeys threshold encryption technology to provide end to end encrypted direct messaging between users.
According to the project, messages are encrypted to the recipient’s identity, meaning the canister that stores and transmits them cannot read their contents. Users send messages using a certificate handle, with no separate key exchange, password or QR code required.
Each message is encrypted for both the recipient and the sender, allowing users to access their own sent messages across devices when signed in with the same identity.
DOM Protocol says messages are temporary by design. Conversations are stored for seven days before being automatically deleted by the canister, with storage space reclaimed during scheduled clean up. If storage approaches its limit, older messages are removed first.
The wallet update also introduces several utility tools. DNA provides daily news and analysis from LedgerLife within the wallet, while Converter offers built in conversion tools for currencies and digital assets. Crypto Invoicing allows users to generate and manage invoices for digital asset payments directly from the wallet interface.
A new My Portfolio section enables users to track holdings across multiple digital assets, including DOM, with live pricing and total portfolio values displayed in the user’s selected currency.
The update includes Net Emission, a dashboard that tracks DOM and ICP issuance against token burns over a 24 hour period, presenting whether the network is operating in an inflationary or deflationary state.
Another addition is Ask the Machine, a built in guide that explains wallet features and directs users to the relevant section of the interface.
Gaming has also been expanded. The headline addition is The Jar of DOM, a fully on chain communal game that settles in ICP.
Players contribute ICP to a communal pool, and when the pool reaches a target amount, it is distributed among participants according to their weight. Weight is calculated from the amount of ICP staked multiplied by a user’s multiplier.
The multiplier increases by burning DOM tokens, with each 25 DOM burned adding 0.25x, up to a maximum of 4x. Burned tokens are permanently removed from circulation.
The game includes a 2 per cent buyback and burn mechanism funded from each completed round, while participants earn Pilot Score and the highest weighted participant in a round receives a Champion designation on their certificate. Rounds progress through increasing pool sizes, beginning with smaller ICP targets before moving to larger pools.
DOM Protocol has also added The Oracle, a prediction based game within the wallet, while Coin Flip has been moved to the mobile wallet interface, making the game available directly on mobile devices.
The update reflects a broader shift in the wallet’s direction, combining encrypted communication, market tracking, utility services and gaming features within a single on chain application. Adoption will ultimately depend on user participation and how these tools are used within the wider Internet Computer network.
