IC Reactor v3 Update Enhances AI-Assisted Development and Onboarding

IC Reactor has released version 3 of its community project, introducing tools aimed at making AI-assisted development more accessible for developers across the Internet Computer ecosystem.

The update moves IC Reactor skills into a dedicated mono-repository, simplifying installation and reuse for developers working on multiple projects. The new skills repo, hosted at B3Pay/ic-reactor-skills, is intended to centralise resources and reduce friction when onboarding new users or sharing capabilities between applications.

Version 3 also brings improvements to AI context. Updated llms.txt files and documentation help tools like Cursor and Copilot generate more accurate code, particularly for hooks, factories, and cache patterns. This enhancement is designed to assist developers relying on AI-assisted coding in writing functional, reliable code faster.

A new skill, ic-reactor-hooks, supports AI agents in using createActorHooks and createQuery, and enables safe imperative usage outside of React. Alongside this, the release provides clearer guidance on hook and factory patterns, as well as cache management commands such as getQueryKey and invalidate, helping developers maintain predictable behaviour in their applications.

The v3 update reflects ongoing efforts to improve the developer experience for AI-assisted workflows on the Internet Computer, providing tools to streamline project setup and encourage effective use of automated coding agents.

Dear Reader,

Ledger Life is an independent platform dedicated to covering the Internet Computer (ICP) ecosystem and beyond. We focus on real stories, builder updates, project launches, and the quiet innovations that often get missed.

We’re not backed by sponsors. We rely on readers like you.

If you find value in what we publish—whether it’s deep dives into dApps, explainers on decentralised tech, or just keeping track of what’s moving in Web3—please consider making a donation. It helps us cover costs, stay consistent, and remain truly independent.

Your support goes a long way.
