ICPay Cloud uses on-chain storage for decentralised file management

Most blockchain networks store transaction records or hashes on-chain while relying on external cloud services to hold the underlying files. ICPay Cloud is taking a different approach by using the Internet Computer to store raw data directly on-chain.

Built on the Internet Computer, ICPay Cloud uses canisters to provide file storage without depending on conventional cloud infrastructure for the files themselves. The service is designed to provide decentralised storage where data can be kept on-chain and protected against tampering.

The approach contrasts with systems where blockchain records point to files stored on services such as AWS. In those setups, the blockchain can provide a record of a transaction while the actual data remains outside the network.

ICPay Cloud says its use of on-chain storage is intended to make files tamper-proof and reduce reliance on external infrastructure.

The service is available through ICPay, with further details provided on its website. ICPay Cloud

Dear Reader,

Ledger Life is an independent platform dedicated to covering the Internet Computer (ICP) ecosystem and beyond. We focus on real stories, builder updates, project launches, and the quiet innovations that often get missed.

We’re not backed by sponsors. We rely on readers like you.

If you find value in what we publish—whether it’s deep dives into dApps, explainers on decentralised tech, or just keeping track of what’s moving in Web3—please consider making a donation. It helps us cover costs, stay consistent, and remain truly independent.

Your support goes a long way.
