ICPay launches prepaid storage plans through ICBucket

By Maria Irene · 12 Oct 2026

ICPay is promoting a prepaid storage option through ICBucket that allows users to pay for data storage directly from their ICPay balance, without using credit cards or committing to recurring monthly fees.

The service offers flexible 30-day storage plans, according to its announcement. Users can renew their plans when needed and combine storage capacity by stacking plans, giving them more flexibility in how they manage their storage requirements.

The model differs from conventional subscription services, where users may face recurring charges even when their storage needs change. By paying upfront, users can choose when to renew rather than relying on automatic monthly billing.

ICPay also highlights the absence of vendor lock-in as a key feature. This is relevant for users who want greater flexibility over their storage arrangements, although the precise terms governing data portability, access and retrieval would need to be checked in the service documentation.

The announcement says users can maintain ownership of their data while paying for storage directly in ICP. The arrangement may appeal to people already using the Internet Computer ecosystem who prefer cryptocurrency-based payments over traditional card transactions.

The service is available through the ICBucket page at icpay.app/icbucket.

As with any storage service, users should review the plan limits, renewal conditions, data recovery options and security arrangements before storing important files. The announcement does not provide detailed pricing or technical specifications, so users should consult the service directly for those details.
