Liquidium launches Robinhood Chain NFT lending in open beta

Liquidium.WTF has launched its NFT lending service on Robinhood Chain in open beta, giving holders of selected Robinhood NFTs the option to borrow crypto against their assets or provide funds to borrowers in return for interest.

The service allows borrowers to use supported NFTs as collateral and access ETH or USDG, depending on the collection. Liquidium says lenders can create fixed loan offers and earn up to 200 per cent APY, with the actual rate varying by collection and market activity.

At launch, the platform supports 11 NFT collections: RH Machines, Quotrons, StonkBrokers, Cash Cats, Rekt Tradooor, Chain Mancers, Bulls Runners Genesis, Script Kiddies, WIF Outlaws, Spritehood Wisps and Zaibatsu Wagies.

The lending model uses fixed rates and terms, with loans available for periods as short as seven days. Lenders set the offers they are prepared to provide, while borrowers can review available offers and select a deal. The terms, including the principal, interest and repayment deadline, are shown before a borrower signs.

One feature of the model is that loans are not subject to price-based liquidations. A fall in the NFT’s floor price does not automatically close an active loan. Instead, the borrower must repay by the agreed deadline to recover the NFT. If the deadline is missed, the lender can claim the collateral under the loan terms.

The service carries risks for both sides. Borrowers can lose their NFT if they fail to repay on time, while lenders may receive an NFT whose market value has fallen below the amount they provided. Liquidium also states that there is no grace period for Robinhood Chain loans.

There is also an important technical distinction around the loan currency. While the service describes the market as supporting ETH or USDG, Liquidium’s current documentation says Robinhood Chain loans settle in WETH rather than native ETH, with the platform supporting wrapping and unwrapping where required.

The Robinhood Chain deployment is currently a beta deployment and remains upgradeable, according to Liquidium’s published contract information. The company advises users to check the current on-chain configuration before transacting.

The launch expands Liquidium’s peer-to-peer lending model beyond its existing Bitcoin market, where the platform supports lending against assets including Ordinals and Runes. Robinhood Chain operates as an Ethereum Layer 2 built using the Arbitrum stack.

For users considering the new market, the fixed terms and absence of price-based liquidation provide a different structure from lending products where collateral can be automatically liquidated when prices fall. However, the short repayment periods, potential loss of NFT collateral and beta status mean users still need to assess the terms and risks before committing funds.
