Loka Labs has released a Telegram authentication module for their Loka Protocol and Pups Bot, a trading bot that handles multi-wallets, auto take-profit/stop-loss, and copy-trading functions. They saw that many users drop off during Web3 onboarding—wallets, seed phrases etc.—so they built something that “just works” using Telegram instead.
The new module is live, production-tested (on Pupsodin Bot), and now publicly available under an MIT licence on GitHub (github.com/lokaverse/SIWT). Developers integrating it can expect full documentation, example code, and a simple setup that takes about five minutes.
Loka Labs say this approach could help bring in users who are already active on Telegram (over 700 million globally), by lowering the usual barriers of Web3 entry. That said, adopting Telegram for auth has its challenges—security, privacy expectations, and Telegram’s own constraints are matters developers will need to watch closely.
This release offers a usable component for the IC ecosystem, particularly for those building dApps that want to simplify onboarding. Feedback is welcomed; the Loka team has separated the module from their main codebase to allow others to inspect or suggest improvements.
