Odin Connect enables direct integration with Odin Fun for Bitcoin DeFi apps

Odin Connect has launched with a tool designed to help developers build applications that interact directly with the Odin Fun ecosystem, aiming to simplify transfers of Bitcoin and tokens between the platform and external applications.
The integration allows developers to request BTC or token transfers from Odin Fun to an external app without relying on lengthy deposit and withdrawal processes, according to the announcement.
Odin Connect is designed to reduce the need for developers to build separate wallet authentication and integration systems. Instead, applications can connect to the Odin Fun ecosystem through the new tool, allowing users to share their Odin Fun principal, a platform-specific identifier used to represent their account.
The developers say this connection does not automatically give an application access to a user’s account or funds. An app can see the user’s Odin Fun principal after login, but transferring tokens requires a separate transfer authorisation request that the user must approve.
This separation between connecting an account and authorising a transfer is intended to give users greater control over how applications interact with their assets. However, the announcement does not provide independent security assessments or further technical details about how permissions are enforced.
The release is aimed at developers building decentralised finance applications and other services that want to integrate with Odin Fun without requiring users to navigate additional wallet setup and transfer steps.
Odin Connect’s documentation and code are available through the Toniq Labs GitHub repository. Developers can use the integration to add a “Connect Odin” button to their websites and begin connecting applications to the Odin Fun ecosystem.
