OGY holders have one week left to migrate legacy tokens

ORIGYN is reminding holders of its legacy OGY token that the deadline to migrate to the new SNS ledger is 15 October 2026, leaving one week for users to complete the process.
The migration allows holders to move their existing OGY tokens to the new ledger on a one-for-one basis, meaning the number of tokens remains unchanged. ORIGYN says the process can be completed through its dashboard, with users required to withdraw eligible tokens from the previous governance system, deposit them into the new dashboard and confirm the swap.
The migration is part of ORIGYN’s move to its SNS-based governance structure. The project’s documentation says OGY can be used for governance participation through staking, with holders able to stake tokens in the ORIGYN SNS through the NNS dApp.
For holders who do not complete the migration by 15 October, ORIGYN says the legacy tokens will be moved into a Reserve Pool. The tokens are not described as being permanently lost, but recovering them later will require contacting the ORIGYN team and providing proof of ownership.
ORIGYN has directed users to its dashboard to complete the migration and provides a step-by-step guide for those who need assistance. The project’s documentation also explains that once the swap is completed, the new OGY balance can be used within the updated governance system.
OGY is the utility token associated with the ORIGYN Protocol, where it is used for activities including digital certificates, NFTs and governance. ORIGYN says its protocol operates on the Internet Computer and focuses on blockchain-based certification, provenance and ownership records.
With the migration deadline approaching, holders of legacy OGY have a limited window to complete the swap through the official ORIGYN dashboard rather than dealing with the recovery process after the deadline.
