OpenChat adds direct crypto transfers through Oisy and NFID Wallet

OpenChat users can now send cryptocurrency directly through the platform using Oisy and NFID Wallet, removing the need to first deposit funds into an OpenChat wallet.
The new transfer option allows users to initiate a crypto payment within OpenChat before being redirected to either Oisy or NFID Wallet to approve the transaction.
According to the announcement, selecting the transfer option opens a dedicated Oisy or NFID tab where the user can review and approve the payment.
The change simplifies the process for users who already hold crypto in their Oisy or NFID Wallets, as funds can be transferred without first moving them into a separate OpenChat wallet.
The feature links OpenChat’s messaging environment with external crypto wallets, giving users a more direct way to send digital assets while keeping transaction approval within their existing wallet.
Users still need to approve each transfer through their selected wallet, meaning the wallet remains the point where the transaction is authorised.
The update adds another crypto payment option to OpenChat and could make wallet-to-wallet transfers more convenient for users of the Internet Computer ecosystem.
