ORIGYN has unveiled the Caffeine Contest, a new campaign aimed at encouraging NFT creators to adopt the ICRC7 and ICRC37 standards. Timed to coincide with San Francisco Caffeine Day on 15 July, the initiative offers a total of 100,000 USDT in rewards. The first ten qualifying projects will each receive a share of the prize pool along with a long-term allocation of OGY tokens.
The contest is designed to promote the use of interoperable NFT standards on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). Each of the ten selected projects will also be awarded one million OGY tokens, which will remain locked for five years.
Projects must implement the ICRC7 or ICRC37 standards to be eligible. These specifications were introduced to support better compatibility and scalability for NFTs built on ICP, with the broader goal of bringing consistency and clarity to how digital assets are created and traded on the network.
To participate, creators are invited to submit project details to ORIGYN via email by 31 August. Selection criteria have not been publicly outlined, though the contest appears focused on early adoption and alignment with the technical frameworks being promoted by the ORIGYN Foundation.
The move follows a growing effort within the ICP ecosystem to strengthen its NFT offering. While ICRC standards aim to provide technical rigour, contests like this one also reflect a broader strategy of incentivising adoption through direct financial support.
