Plug Wallet Adds Support for Rune Tokens, Launches Giveaway

Plug Wallet has rolled out support for Rune tokens via the ODIN protocol, expanding the list of assets users can store and manage through its interface. To mark the addition, Plug is giving away a total of $500 in DOG and OdinDog tokens to five users, offering $100 each.

Rune tokens have gained traction recently within the Bitcoin ecosystem as a way to enable more complex token interactions without leaving the network’s security base. By adding ODIN support, Plug Wallet is aiming to make it easier for users to explore these assets while keeping them accessible within a familiar browser wallet setup.

The giveaway is designed to build awareness and encourage users to try out the new functionality. Participants need to like, retweet and follow the Plug Wallet account, then post their ODIN address in the comments to be eligible. Addresses can be found within the Plug interface under the “Receive > ODIN” tab.

The wallet’s move reflects a growing interest in expanding Bitcoin’s utility beyond its traditional role, as more projects experiment with new token layers. While excitement around Rune tokens is still developing, the addition of direct wallet support gives early users a way to store and send these assets without relying on external custodians or bridging.

Plug Wallet has positioned itself as a go-to tool for interacting with Internet Computer assets, and its step into the Rune space shows an interest in bridging communities that previously operated in parallel.

More details and updates can be found via Plug’s official X account @plug_wallet.
