Plug Wallet has introduced support for WalletConnect, allowing users to connect with decentralised applications across a wider range of blockchain networks including Ethereum, Solana, Hyperliquid, Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) and others. The update is aimed at making it easier for users to interact with dApps without switching between multiple wallets or interfaces.
The integration brings WalletConnect compatibility into Plug Wallet’s existing non-custodial setup, which already supports assets across BTC, ETH, SOL and ICP ecosystems. With this addition, users can now approve connections to external applications, sign transactions and manage permissions through a single wallet interface.
A short demo accompanying the announcement shows a user connecting Plug Wallet to Hyperliquid’s trading interface. The process includes granting account access, reviewing terms, and confirming a signature request, reflecting the standard flow users can expect when interacting with supported dApps.
The wallet continues to position itself around its Chain Fusion approach, which focuses on enabling interactions across different blockchain networks within a unified experience. By adding WalletConnect support, Plug Wallet extends its reach to a broader set of decentralised applications, particularly those built outside its native ecosystem.
The update places Plug Wallet in a more competitive position within the multi-chain wallet sector, where demand is growing for tools that reduce friction between networks. While many wallets already offer multi-chain asset support, the ability to combine this with WalletConnect connectivity and Chain Fusion features is intended to streamline how users engage with DeFi platforms.
Further integrations are expected, with the development team indicating ongoing work to expand compatibility with additional chains and applications over time.
