Shade Agents: NEAR-Powered AI That Thinks, Trades, and Acts—Without a Middleman

These agents are deployed within a TEE, generating unique key pairs and proving their legitimacy through remote attestation. The smart contract, meanwhile, verifies these proofs by checking TEE signatures and ensuring the worker agent code is correct. Once verified, the worker agent can initiate transactions, with Chain Signatures allowing decentralised groups of worker agents to collectively control keys across multiple blockchains. This eliminates the vulnerability of key loss or compromise tied to a single TEE.

Decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) can oversee the smart contract’s stored worker agent code, allowing upgrades to AI models, off-chain computation, and data collection to be managed through governance protocols. This means AI agents remain adaptable and evolve alongside technological advancements without requiring intervention from a single authority.

For developers, Shade Agents introduce a new dimension of intelligence to applications, enabling AI to interact with smart contracts, manage assets, and make decisions without human involvement.
