Suzanne Syz Becomes First Jeweller to Certify Entire Collection on Blockchain with Origyn

Swiss jewellery designer Suzanne Syz has taken an innovative step by certifying her entire high-jewellery collection on the blockchain, using technology developed by the Swiss-based Origyn Foundation. The announcement, recently featured in Rapaport, marks a first for the jewellery world, bringing blockchain-backed authentication to 1,001 unique pieces.

Known for her unconventional use of materials such as titanium, aluminium and enamel, Syz has long been recognised for challenging convention in high jewellery. She says the decision to adopt blockchain aligns with her philosophy of blending creativity with innovation, describing it as a way to enhance trust and transparency for clients.

Each jewel is now accompanied by a digital certificate recorded permanently on the blockchain. The process includes defining a certificate structure, uploading provenance details, and minting an immutable record that verifies authenticity and ownership. Syz says this technology allows collectors to have complete confidence in the ethical sourcing and authenticity of their pieces.

Origyn founder Gian Bochsler describes the collaboration as a natural partnership, citing Syz’s reputation for creativity and forward thinking. He believes blockchain and trust “are synonymous,” with potential applications extending across the luxury market, from fine jewellery to diamonds and gold.

As collectors increasingly seek transparency and proof of origin, Syz sees blockchain as a modern expression of accountability in jewellery — a seamless meeting of artistry and technology.
