Three OMB loans unlock 0.71 BTC through Liquidium

By Maria Irene · 30 Sept 2026

Three Ordinal Maxi Biz (OMB) holders borrowed a combined 0.71 BTC against their Bitcoin-based digital art through Liquidium between September 23 and 26, according to data shared by the Bitcoin lending platform.

The three loans involved OMB inscriptions from the collection, with borrowers receiving 0.27 BTC, 0.22 BTC and 0.22 BTC respectively. Each loan shown in the data carried a 30-day term.

The transactions highlight one of the lending models developing around Bitcoin Ordinals, where holders can use their inscriptions as collateral to access Bitcoin without selling the underlying assets.

Liquidium describes itself as a peer-to-peer lending protocol that allows borrowers to use Ordinals and Runes as collateral for BTC loans, while lenders provide the Bitcoin in return for interest.

For lenders, the model provides exposure to interest payments while the Ordinal remains locked as collateral during the loan. If a borrower repays the loan on time, the lender receives the agreed interest and the collateral is returned. If the borrower fails to repay, the collateral can be forfeited to the lender under the loan terms.

The three OMB loans involved different inscriptions from the collection. The graphic shared by Liquidium identifies them as Ordinal Maxi Biz pieces with red and blue eyes, a characteristic linked to different rare Bitcoin blocks within the OMB collection. Liquidium describes OMB as a Bitcoin Ordinals collection of roughly 9,000 hand-drawn inscriptions.

Liquidium’s current lending platform lists OMB among the collections available for Bitcoin-backed lending, with loan offers varying according to the specific inscription, loan term, interest rate and loan-to-value ratio.

The transactions also illustrate the distinction between selling a digital collectible and borrowing against it. A holder seeking liquidity can use an eligible Ordinal as collateral while retaining an economic claim to the asset, subject to the terms and repayment requirements of the loan.

Liquidium says its platform supports both instant loans, where lenders provide liquidity through vaults, and manual peer-to-peer loans in which borrowers accept specific offers from lenders.

The 0.71 BTC in OMB-backed borrowing therefore offers a recent example of how Bitcoin-native lending infrastructure is being used to turn Ordinal holdings into short-term liquidity without requiring an immediate sale.
