Windoge has confirmed that support for ICRC-2 transfers on the $EXE ledger is close to being introduced. The team is currently reviewing the planned ledger migration, which will enable the new transfer standard.
Once the review is completed, a date for the migration will be announced. The process itself is expected to take several hours, as the team will temporarily halt the EXE canister, back up transaction data, install the updated ledger and replay over one million transactions to ensure data is properly synced and validated.
ICRC-2 is part of an emerging standard within the Internet Computer ecosystem, designed to improve token transfer functionality and compatibility across projects. By aligning $EXE with this standard, Windoge is aiming to make the token easier to integrate and use across a broader range of applications.
Community members will be watching closely for the migration schedule, with attention on how smoothly the transition is managed given the volume of data involved. For developers and users alike, the move represents a practical update that could improve usability once the upgrade is live.
