Wipro Welcomes Srini Pallia as New Chief

Wipro Limited, a front-runner in technology services and consulting, has proudly announced Srini Pallia as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. This appointment comes as Thierry Delaporte steps down after a notable four-year tenure to explore new avenues outside the professional sphere.

Pallia, a Wipro stalwart for over thirty years, previously held the reins as CEO for Americas 1, Wipro’s largest and most dynamic market. His tenure in this role was marked by significant growth and increased market share across various industry sectors. As a member of the Wipro Executive Board, Pallia’s insights and strategies have been instrumental in shaping the company’s direction.

Rishad Premji, Chairman of Wipro Ltd., expressed his confidence in Pallia’s leadership, particularly praising his client-centric approach, growth mindset, and strong execution focus. Premji believes that Pallia’s deep-rooted commitment to Wipro’s values makes him the ideal candidate to steer the company into its next phase of growth and profitability.

Pallia’s journey with Wipro began in 1992, and over the years, he has assumed numerous leadership roles, including President of Wipro’s Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Application Services. His extensive experience within the company and the industry at large positions him well to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Reflecting on his appointment, Pallia expressed his honor in leading Wipro, a company that balances profit with purpose. He is eager to build upon the solid foundation laid by Delaporte and drive Wipro towards new heights of growth. With a deep appreciation for Wipro’s 78-year legacy and its team of over 240,000 associates, Pallia is optimistic about the future prospects of the company.

Delaporte, on his part, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead Wipro through a period of significant transformation. He is proud of the groundwork laid for the company’s future success and is confident in Pallia’s ability to steer Wipro towards greater achievements.

Pallia, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in management studies, also boasts credentials from Harvard Business School’s Leading Global Businesses executive program and the Advanced Leadership Program at McGill Executive Institute. He will be based in New Jersey and report directly to Chairman Rishad Premji.

Wipro Limited remains committed to driving digital transformation for its clients, leveraging its comprehensive portfolio of services in consulting, design, engineering, and operations. With a presence in 65 countries and a workforce of over 240,000, Wipro continues to uphold its promise of fostering growth and sustainability in an evolving global landscape.
