Crypto firm Immutable has teamed up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to revolutionize infrastructure solutions for the crypto gaming industry. The collaboration, announced on Tuesday, aims to ease the process for developers to launch and scale their blockchain games.
Immutable, known for its contributions to blockchain gaming, has entered the AWS ISV Accelerate Program. This program is designed for companies utilizing AWS services in their products. By doing so, Immutable is set to redefine the landscape for developers using the Ethereum-compatible Immutable X blockchain.
One key initiative stemming from this partnership is the inclusion of Immutable in AWS Activate, a program tailored for startups. This program offers a comprehensive support package, including technical assistance, substantial AWS credits amounting to up to $100,000, and access to a range of resources.
Jason Suen, Chief Commercial Officer at Immutable, expressed the significance of this collaboration, stating, “By joining AWS ISV Accelerate and AWS Activate programs, we’re able to provide our vast network of game developers with a turnkey solution for quickly building and scaling web3 games.”
Gaming in the Crypto Realm
The move comes at a time when gaming is recognized as one of the fastest-growing subsectors within the blockchain industry. AWS Head of Startups, John Kearney, highlighted the industry’s potential, emphasizing that numerous studios are currently exploring the integration of crypto tech into their games.
While Kearney did not disclose the number of crypto firms involved in the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, he outlined the requirements for eligibility. Companies need to be part of AWS’s Partner Network, and they must meet additional criteria.
AWS is actively engaged with the Blockchain Game Alliance, demonstrating its commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation within the blockchain gaming space. The company offers an array of services in the gaming sector, ranging from cloud gaming to analytics and artificial intelligence.
Beyond Immutable: AWS and Blockchain
Immutable is not the sole blockchain firm collaborating with AWS. In January, Avalanche announced its partnership with AWS, offering Avalanche subnet deployment as a service through the AWS marketplace.
Immutable X and the upcoming Immutable zkEVM are Ethereum scaling networks that support various crypto games, including Immutable’s own Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians, along with Illuvium, MetalCore, and Cross the Ages.
As the partnership unfolds, it marks a pivotal moment in the convergence of blockchain technology and gaming. The collaboration between Immutable and AWS is poised to empower developers and propel the crypto gaming industry into new realms of innovation.
