Appic DAO Offers Simpler Way to Mirror ICP Tokens Across Chains

Appic DAO has introduced a tool designed to reduce the complexity of launching Internet Computer (ICP) tokens on other blockchains. Called the Twin Token Creator, the feature allows projects to mirror existing tokens to chains like BNB, Solana, or Arbitrum without redeploying everything from the ground up.

Moving a token from ICP to another chain has typically involved multiple steps. Developers often need to write and deploy a new smart contract — such as a BEP-20 on BNB Chain — and set up or depend on a bridge service. From there, it’s a case of managing token pegs, organising audits, addressing crosschain risks, and building documentation for users. For smaller teams, the workload can quickly become a roadblock.

Appic DAO’s system aims to cut through that by offering a mirrored version of the original token. The process skips contract rewrites and complex bridging infrastructure, letting developers focus on utility and distribution instead. By handling the sync and structure behind the scenes, the tool reduces the likelihood of errors that can arise in manual multi-chain deployment.

Mirroring instead of rebuilding has its appeal. Developers familiar with the original token logic on ICP can now extend their reach to new ecosystems without needing to duplicate technical work. The tool could also be helpful for projects that want to expand access or integrate with other DeFi tools and protocols on chains beyond Internet Computer.

At a time when crosschain activity is growing and liquidity needs are diversifying, solutions like this offer a more accessible path forward. There are still points to watch, especially around security and consistency between mirrored versions. But the ability to simplify the process without relying entirely on third-party bridges is likely to interest developers looking for more autonomy.

Whether it becomes a widely adopted tool will depend on how well it performs in real use. For now, Appic DAO is positioning the Twin Token Creator as a way to help teams avoid unnecessary rebuilds and focus instead on where and how they want their tokens to be used.

Dear Reader,

Ledger Life is an independent platform dedicated to covering the Internet Computer (ICP) ecosystem and beyond. We focus on real stories, builder updates, project launches, and the quiet innovations that often get missed.

We’re not backed by sponsors. We rely on readers like you.

If you find value in what we publish—whether it’s deep dives into dApps, explainers on decentralised tech, or just keeping track of what’s moving in Web3—please consider making a donation. It helps us cover costs, stay consistent, and remain truly independent.

Your support goes a long way.
