Dubai and Bybit Throw a $100K Hackathon Bash: Are You Ready to Unleash Web3?

Dubai is taking its crypto game to the next level. This time, it’s all about hacking for a cause. Global crypto exchange Bybit and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) are putting their partnership into high gear with the announcement of the “Web3 Unleashed: Crypto Innovation Challenge” hackathon, offering a tantalizing prize pool of $100,000.

Just weeks after their partnership took off, with Bybit injecting AED 500,000 into 15 crypto startups under the DMCC umbrella, the companies are stepping it up a notch. The hackathon, scheduled for November 22, 2023, promises to be the largest of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, not just in terms of the cash at stake, but also in the sheer scale of participation. And who better to steer the ship than Bybit’s thought leaders Bryan Aaron and Daniel Basharimov, who will serve as judges for the competition?

The event aims to be a hotbed of innovation, focusing on artificial intelligence, gaming, and blockchain security. But the organizers aren’t drawing any boundaries. The call for entries is wide open, inviting projects ranging from Blockchain Infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence to DeFi, NFTs, Metaverse, Crypto Gaming, and even Sustainable Blockchain Solutions. Whether you’re an AI savant or a Metaverse maven, there’s room for you in this desert oasis of technology.

Since June 2023, Bybit and the DMCC have been collaborating to accelerate the mass adoption of crypto in Dubai. Bybit, boasting 16 million users and a philanthropic spirit, is committed to not only growing its user base but also investing heavily in local crypto initiatives. As the official Ecosystem Partner for the DMCC Crypto Centre, Bybit is doing more than just writing checks. The exchange also serves as the crypto listing partner for DMCC, providing valuable mentorship and resources to help startups soar.

Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, sees the hackathon as an ideal launchpad for nascent tech talent. In a statement, Zhou hailed Bybit as the “Crypto Ark” for Dubai’s burgeoning digital currency scene. He said the hackathon was just the beginning, with more collaborative projects between Bybit and DMCC on the horizon, all aimed at providing an atmosphere ripe for the birth of game-changing innovations.

Registration for the hackathon is open from September 26 to October 26, 2023. Mark your calendars, techies, because November 22 is set to be a landmark day for the MENA crypto ecosystem. With Bybit and DMCC at the helm, it’s full steam ahead for the Crypto Ark in Dubai.

The hackathon is more than a competition; it’s a statement of intent, a bold declaration by Bybit and DMCC that they’re committed to making Dubai a global crypto hub. So, are you ready to unleash the potential of Web3?
