GOB Ramps Up Activity with Airdrop and Expanding On-Chain Game Built on Bitcoin

GOB, or Game of Blocks, is pushing ahead with its next round of community rewards as it continues building one of the more ambitious on-chain gaming experiences on Bitcoin. The latest airdrop campaign, run in partnership with ODIN•FUN, is live now and runs through to 21 July, with rewards split between GOB supporters and active ODIN users.

GOB positions itself as a “culture coin” and gaming token designed specifically for the Bitcoin Ordinals ecosystem. Using recursive inscriptions, it enables fully on-chain gaming directly on Bitcoin — something only recently made possible with the latest upgrades to Ordinals. At its core, GOB combines game theory, dynamic artwork and deflationary tokenomics to create a system where holding the token is participation by default.

The project unfolds in three phases. Early stages determine the player’s character tier, while the third phase, still under wraps, will offer further rewards or interactions. Nearly 80,000 unique Bitcoin addresses from over 160 collections received the original GOB airdrop, with the supply starting at 88,888 and decreasing each cycle through deflation.

The new airdrop distributes 70% of rewards to those who either buy or provide liquidity for $GOB on ODIN. The remaining 30% is aimed at any active ODIN trader, regardless of which assets they’ve interacted with. Bonus rewards will be based on activity volume, but the exact criteria will remain undisclosed to prevent gaming the system.

GOB’s mechanics aim to balance simplicity with complexity. For most holders, doing nothing is a valid and active strategy. Those who choose to engage more deeply with reinscriptions or trading can take part in more advanced layers of the game. Phase 2 is scheduled to begin at Bitcoin block 837440, and is expected to offer a simpler experience accessible to a broader group of players.

As the project continues to evolve, the GOB team remains focused on gradual expansion, user involvement and reinforcing the idea that long-term participation — whether active or passive — is central to how the game works.
