ICP Rolls Out Updates to Strengthen DAO Participation

Internet Computer has introduced a set of updates designed to make participation in decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) smoother, clearer and more engaging. The changes aim to strengthen how contributors interact with governance, while reducing friction for developers and communities managing projects.

One of the most visible improvements comes through the redesigned Launchpad overview. Contributors can now see real-time data on DAOs created through the Service Nervous System (SNS), including fully diluted valuations, proposal activity and progress of token swaps. By giving both project teams and individual users a clearer snapshot of what is happening, the platform hopes to simplify discovery and tracking of DAO participation.

Governance is also being streamlined with a new structure for proposals. These are now categorised into seven standard topics, which allows for easier filtering and more effective vote delegation. Participants can choose to delegate their votes based on subject areas rather than blanket decision-making, adding consistency and transparency to how governance decisions are shaped.

The upgrades extend to the technical foundation of DAOs as well. Automatic framework updates through the Network Nervous System mean less manual maintenance for DAO teams and faster deployment of security improvements. At the same time, support for larger canister Wasms opens the door to governing more complex decentralised applications. The changes are designed to reduce the operational burden while expanding what projects can build.

On the financial side, DAO treasuries now have improved tools to engage with decentralised exchanges. Tokens can be allocated more easily to liquidity pools, creating a smoother path for listing and market access. Standardised integration also makes it simpler to manage treasuries while improving the tradability of tokens after launch.

The combined effect of these updates is to make DAO governance on ICP more approachable, functional and adaptable. By addressing both the contributor experience and the backend mechanics, the network is positioning itself to support a broader and more active community of decentralised organisations.
