Merit Circle DAO, a gaming-focused decentralized autonomous organization with over 60 partner games, has announced the launch of Beam, an Avalanche Subnet dedicated to Web3 gaming development and gameplay. Beam aims to streamline the deployment of games for developers and offer players an enhanced gaming experience on the blockchain.
Upon launch, Beam will provide existing Merit Circle products, along with new gaming-centric tooling, an NFT marketplace called Sphere, and three new games: Trial Xtreme, Walker World, and Hash Rush. The platform has ambitious plans to support dozens of Avalanche games in the future.
Beam is designed as an independent, sovereign network catering to both gamers and game developers. Trial Xtreme, a popular racing game with over 250 million downloads worldwide, is one of the first titles to be released on the platform. Walker World, powered by Unreal Engine 5, is an open-world experience where players can cooperate in various game modes and explore a universe full of shared rewards. Hash Rush is a Web3 MMORTS game set in the Hermeian Galaxy, where players can build bases, gather resources, and engage in strategic battles.
The Beam platform will also provide tools for players to utilize their gaming assets more effectively and for developers to launch games seamlessly. An AMM (automated market maker) will enable players to swap tokens associated with Beam dApps, while the Sphere NFT marketplace will allow in-game asset purchases. Beam will also support native Avalanche SDKs, APIs, wallets, bridges, and analytics tools.
Merit Circle chose Avalanche for its speed, security, and quick settlement capabilities, as well as the open-ended possibilities that Subnets provide for games and game developers. Brandon Aaskov, CTO of Merit Circle DAO, expressed enthusiasm for working with Ava Labs to optimize Beam for game-heavy workloads and ensure smooth on-chain operations for all users.
More information about Beam is expected to be released soon.
