Builders on the Internet Computer are being invited to put their skills to the test with a new initiative from the Dfinity Foundation and ICP Ninja. The call is simple: create and share example projects that highlight what can be done on the blockchain, and in return earn a 10 ICP bounty while contributing to a growing library of open resources for developers.
The programme runs until 31 October and encourages participants to share projects that can inspire others and serve as practical learning tools. Past examples such as “Who Am I” demonstrate how small but functional applications can teach developers how to harness the network’s features. Suggested themes include decentralised AI using on-chain large language model canisters, cross-chain connections through Chain Fusion and token standards, or applications that embrace the vision of a world computer through tools like HTTPS outcalls, timers and decentralised storage.
To qualify, projects must be deployed through ICP Ninja and follow specific technical guidelines. Each submission should combine a Motoko or Rust backend with a JavaScript, React or Vite frontend, hosted across one backend and one frontend canister. Projects are capped at 2000 lines of code and must be compatible with the VS Code devcontainer provided by ICP Ninja. The focus is on clean, deployable code, effective use of Internet Computer features, an intuitive interface and demonstrable user value.
Submissions are made by commenting under the designated forum post with a project title, a shareable ICP Ninja link, a GitHub repository and a short piece of feedback about ICP Ninja itself. This format keeps the process open and accessible while also giving developers a chance to shape future improvements to the platform.
The Internet Computer has positioned itself as a fully on-chain environment that supports both web-scale applications and decentralised AI. By launching initiatives like this, the Dfinity Foundation and ICP Ninja are working to strengthen community engagement and foster practical experimentation. For developers, it is an opportunity to showcase creativity, test skills against clear criteria and receive recognition in the form of ICP rewards.
As the deadline approaches, the initiative reflects a broader push within the ecosystem to move from theory to working code. Developers are encouraged to start small, build projects that can teach as well as function, and contribute to a knowledge base that may help guide the next wave of applications on the Internet Computer.
Dear Reader,
Ledger Life is an independent platform dedicated to covering the Internet Computer (ICP) ecosystem and beyond. We focus on real stories, builder updates, project launches, and the quiet innovations that often get missed.
We’re not backed by sponsors. We rely on readers like you.
If you find value in what we publish—whether it’s deep dives into dApps, explainers on decentralised tech, or just keeping track of what’s moving in Web3—please consider making a donation. It helps us cover costs, stay consistent, and remain truly independent.
Your support goes a long way.
