LedgerLife spoke with EstateDAO about the closed beta for NoFeeBooking—a hotel booking platform built on the Internet Computer (ICP) that lets users pay directly with crypto or fiat, with zero service fees to guests or hosts.
What can you tell us about the current beta phase — who’s allowed in, what’s being tested, and how are you using that feedback?
The beta phase is currently being tested internally and with a small group of early supporters from the ICP community. We’re testing everything end-to-end on GitHub and have already received over 105 feature suggestions, bug reports, and feedback points. These are actively being integrated and resolved to deliver a smoother and more intuitive user experience. To incentivise testing and valuable feedback, we’re rewarding contributors with ckBTC, NFTs, and EST tokens. We’ve also been doing offline testing by actually booking and staying at listed properties ourselves—to validate the real-world experience from both host and guest perspectives. The feedback so far has been instrumental in improving reliability, UI responsiveness, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. This phase is critical in helping us iron out any friction points before the public launch.
Crypto payment option on the platform. How does that improve transactions or user experience compared to more common payment methods?
Crypto payments bring two major advantages:
-
Borderless transactions – guests can book stays globally without worrying about currency conversion fees, banking delays, or payment gateway issues.
-
Lower fees – traditional booking platforms charge high transaction fees and also take a cut from the host. With crypto, we can bypass intermediaries and reduce fees dramatically for both guests and hosts.
-
Greater privacy & security – users don’t need to enter sensitive information like card details. Payments are made securely through their crypto wallet, reducing the risk of fraud or data leaks.
You’ve been described as a Web3 alternative to Airbnb. What are you doing differently that sets you apart from traditional short‑stay platforms?
We’re the world’s first hotel booking platform with 0% markup and crypto payments, offering no service fees, faster global transactions, and more. Unlike traditional platforms that charge up to 15–20% in fees, we take no commission from guests or hosts. And by enabling direct wallet‑to‑wallet crypto payments, we’re cutting out intermediaries, speeding up transactions, and empowering a truly borderless travel experience. This is not a Web3 Airbnb—it’s a completely new model built around fairness, transparency, and user ownership.

Looking ahead, what’s next for EstateDAO — any big feature launches, expansion plans, or partnerships on the horizon?
Just look out for our NoFeeBooking launch!!
Will NoFeeBooking support both fiat and crypto payments from launch, or will it be phased in? Which currencies or tokens will be accepted?
Yes, NoFeeBooking will support both crypto and fiat payments from day one. Users can pay with 300+ crypto tokens and fiat currencies. This ensures a seamless booking experience for both Web3 and traditional users, no matter where they’re from or how they prefer to pay.
How are listings curated or onboarded on NoFeeBooking — can anyone list, or is there a quality‑control process?
We partner with trusted global inventory providers who supply thousands of properties worldwide. Every listing undergoes a thorough quality check both online and through offline testing. Only properties that meet our strict criteria and filtering standards are approved and displayed on the platform.
Will NoFeeBooking work on mobile from day one, or is the beta mainly focused on desktop?
Yes, NoFeeBooking is fully compatible with both mobile and desktop browsers from day one. While the mobile app is not yet available, it is in the pipeline and will be launched soon.
How are smart contracts used in bookings, and will users be able to see or verify them before confirming a stay?
Smart contracts are used for storing the bookings on‑chain. They will be able to see their bookings after they pay and confirm the booking.
Built EstateDAO on the Internet Computer Protocol. What drew you to ICP, and what makes it a better fit than other chains?
ICP has the highest transactions per second. That was a very good technical feat for a chain to achieve. For us, making consumer apps – high transactions make good consumer apps.

EstateDAO’s move into travel and real‑estate booking is driven by a desire to cut out commissions and empower users through direct crypto payments. NoFeeBooking currently operates in beta, with real‑world testing and community input guiding development. Supporting both crypto and fiat seems aimed at broad accessibility, while vetted property listings aim to preserve quality.
Observers remain interested in how quickly NoFeeBooking can grow its inventory, reach users beyond Web3 circles and deliver a polished mobile experience. The public launch will be a key moment in showing whether this model can scale — and whether it delivers on its promise of a fairer, more transparent booking experience.
