Oisy v1.9.7 Brings Internet Identity 2.0 and Early Tokenised Market Access

Oisy has rolled out version 1.9.7, a release focused on infrastructure upgrades and incremental feature improvements rather than sweeping claims. The update completes Oisy’s transition to Internet Identity 2.0, the authentication system developed within the Internet Computer ecosystem, with the aim of improving login reliability and reducing friction for users accessing the wallet.

One of the more closely watched additions is support for the first set of tokenised stocks and ETFs issued by Ondo Finance. The inclusion reflects growing interest in on-chain representations of traditional financial assets, though availability and use cases remain at an early stage. While proponents point to improved accessibility and settlement efficiency, tokenised securities still operate within evolving regulatory frameworks, and their long-term role alongside conventional markets is not yet settled.

The update also introduces faster Bitcoin sends, with transaction fees now calculated instantly once an amount is entered. For everyday users, this addresses a common point of frustration around fee uncertainty and transaction delays. Alongside this, Oisy reports improved login speeds and a series of general stability fixes, suggesting a focus on usability rather than feature sprawl.

Taken together, v1.9.7 reads as a maintenance driven release with selective expansion. The move to Internet Identity 2.0 strengthens the technical foundation, while early support for tokenised equities hints at where the platform may be heading. At the same time, adoption, regulatory clarity, and real world usage will ultimately determine how much practical impact these changes deliver beyond the update notes.
