ICPay launches instant USDT payments with low fees for developers and AI agents

ICPay has announced support for USDT payments, giving developers and automated agents a new way to accept stablecoin transactions with near-instant settlement.

The platform says payments can be completed in under two seconds, with fees starting as low as 0.5 per cent. The update is aimed at teams building on-chain services that need faster, cheaper payment rails than traditional systems typically offer.

USDT, issued by Tether, remains one of the most widely used stablecoins in global crypto markets. Its popularity has made it a common choice for payments and transfers, particularly in regions where access to banking services can be limited or where users want to avoid exposure to price swings.

ICPay is positioning its service as a developer-friendly alternative to mainstream payment processors, arguing that stablecoin transactions can remove delays such as multi-day settlement periods and reduce processing costs.

The company compared its integration experience to tools like Stripe, suggesting the goal is to make accepting crypto payments feel familiar for businesses and builders who may not want to manage complex blockchain infrastructure.

Supporters see stablecoin payments as a practical use case for decentralised networks, especially as more applications experiment with AI-driven services and so-called agentic economies, where software agents may transact automatically on behalf of users.

At the same time, analysts often note that stablecoin adoption still comes with open questions around regulation, issuer transparency, and how these payment systems will fit alongside existing financial frameworks.

For developers, the immediate appeal of ICPay’s offering lies in speed, predictable value, and lower fees, which could make micro-transactions and real-time services easier to support.

ICPay says the USDT payment feature is now available through its platform, with onboarding information provided at icpay.org.
