A new app built using Caffeine AI is aiming to turn long airport layovers into opportunities to meet people rather than simply wait for the next flight. The platform, called Connections, lets travellers see who else is at the same airport during overlapping layover times and offers a simple way to reach out.
Users can sign up with just a name and, once registered, add layover details to match with others in the same location. Accepted connection requests then appear in the app, with the option to share social media profiles if both parties want to stay in touch. The idea is to make what is often considered wasted time more social and engaging.
Connections has introduced a referral system where users can invite friends to join with unique codes, earning both sides bonus points. The app is also rolling out a verification feature. The first 1000 users can get lifetime verification for free, while the next group of early adopters can access it at a reduced annual cost of $5.
According to the developers, the platform was designed to be simple from the start, with the option to complete or expand a profile later. Points are awarded for sign-ups and activity, creating an incentive to grow the community while keeping interactions safe and optional.
