LedgerLife launches ICP World Index to track what the token buys across 18 global cities

A new data tool from LedgerLife puts a number on what ICP actually buys, tracking the token’s purchasing power across 18 cities and 11 everyday items in real time.

The ICP World Index, available at ledgerlife.io/icp-world-index, lets readers select any city and see how far ICP stretches against local prices — from a cappuccino to monthly rent, an iPhone 16 Pro, a litre of petrol, a kilogram of gold, and property at median sale prices. Live crypto prices for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and gold refresh every five minutes from CoinGecko. City cost data, sourced from Numbeo, Apple, Netflix, and GlobalPetrolPrices, is pegged to March 2026 and updated quarterly.

The spread across cities is stark. At current prices, around $2.23 per ICP, one token covers a coffee in New York at 2.47 ICP, but the same coffee in Bangkok costs under half that in ICP terms. Monthly rent in Buenos Aires runs roughly 157 ICP, while the same category in Hong Kong demands more than 1,300. A median home in Addis Ababa sits at around 35,874 ICP. In Sydney, the same comparison lands at more than 515,000.

The index covers New York, London, Paris, Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Beijing, Nairobi, Cape Town, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Addis Ababa. Beijing is flagged as an exception for Netflix, which is not available in China.

The tool is not a price prediction or investment signal. It is a cost-of-living comparison denominated in ICP, designed to give holders a concrete frame for the token’s current value outside of exchange charts. The four global benchmarks — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and gold per kilogram — appear on every city panel and update live.

The dashboard is embedded on the LedgerLife homepage after the Canister Lab section, and accessible as a standalone page under Market Pulse in the site’s navigation. The index adds to LedgerLife’s growing suite of on-chain and market tools, which includes the ICP Fear and Greed Index, Whale Alerts, the Known Neurons Directory, and the ICP Profit Calculator.
