OISY Demo Lets Developers Try Wallet Transactions and Get Test Tokens

An updated version of the OISY Signer Demo has been released, offering developers and users a way to explore token interactions and transaction flows on the Internet Computer blockchain. The demonstration allows participants to connect to the OISY Wallet, retrieve token balances and execute transfers using mock assets such as TESTICP and TICRC1. Links to both the demo and a test token faucet are publicly available for experimentation and integration testing.

The demo operates entirely on the frontend, with no backend server required. This design choice reflects the broader approach of the OISY Wallet project, which runs its core functionality onchain without users needing to install extensions or separate applications. That contrasts with many traditional crypto wallets, which rely on browser extensions or mobile apps. OISY’s architecture uses the Internet Computer’s underlying system to serve the wallet directly to the web, offering a passkey‑based login and multichain support that includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and ICP. Users authenticate through Internet Identity, a cryptographic service native to the Internet Computer that enables passwordless access.

The token faucet linked in the announcement gives participants free test tokens, which are intended for integration, wallet connection and transaction trials without involving real value. For developers building on the Internet Computer, such resources can simplify early stages of development by removing the need to operate real tokens or maintain their own test token sources. The project’s documentation also offers libraries and standards for connecting decentralized applications to wallets like OISY and handling user approvals during interactions.

OISY’s approach has drawn mixed feedback from communities engaged with the Internet Computer ecosystem. Some users appreciate the convenience of a web‑first wallet that supports multiple chains without extensions, while others discuss differences between network‑custodial systems like OISY and more traditional staking and governance tools provided by the network’s own structures. Independent forums show a range of views, with some users praising ease of use and others raising general concerns about wallet security practices that are common across the wider crypto space.

At its core, the Signer Demo update is a practical tool aimed at lowering entry barriers for developers building applications for the Internet Computer. By giving easy access to a wallet interface and test tokens, it supports quicker cycles of iteration and integration testing. The links provided in the press release allow users to explore the technology and generate test assets directly.
