Dom Protocol Expands Arcade With Five On-Chain Games

Dom Protocol has expanded its Arcade platform with a suite of five blockchain-based games designed to deepen user engagement through token burns, competitive mechanics and on-chain rewards.

The release includes Blast Off, Anomaly, Forge Wheel, Dom Machine and Domain, each built around the protocol’s wider DOM ecosystem. The company says the games are intended to combine entertainment with permanent on-chain outcomes tied to user participation.

Blast Off centres on survival-style gameplay where users commit DOM as fuel for a virtual vessel travelling through space. Players who complete the journey receive a Lunor Emblem attached to their certificate, while failed attempts permanently mark the asset with a “KIA” status. Different entry tiers are available depending on the length and difficulty of the run.

Anomaly introduces a skill-based wagering format set across five sectors of deep space. Gameplay combines player decisions with on-chain randomness, with environmental hazards such as solar storms, debris fields and gravity wells affecting outcomes. A minimum wager applies for entry.

Forge Wheel takes inspiration from slot-style mechanics. Each spin burns two DOM permanently while adding additional value to a communal prize pool. Matching symbols unlocks payouts, with certain rewards etched permanently onto player certificates.

Dom Machine operates as a last-player-standing competition. Users enter by committing 10 DOM, with eight tokens directed into the prize pool and two removed from circulation forever. Every new entry resets a 24-hour timer, and if no further player joins before the countdown expires, the last participant claims the pool.

Domain shifts towards long-term ecosystem participation. Users anchor their Certificate of Burn to territories within a shared map and compete for control over time. According to the protocol, holders who maintain their position for 120 days become eligible for weekly ICP yield distributions.

The expansion reflects a broader movement across the blockchain gaming sector, where projects are increasingly experimenting with token utility and retention systems after the decline of earlier play-to-earn models. Developers across the industry have been looking for ways to encourage longer-term participation without relying heavily on inflationary reward structures.

At the same time, blockchain gaming platforms continue to face questions around sustainability, player retention and regulation. Analysts have noted that ecosystems built around token burns and wagering mechanics may come under scrutiny in some jurisdictions, particularly where crypto assets intersect with gambling frameworks.

Dom Protocol has not disclosed active user figures linked to the Arcade expansion. The games are now live alongside the project’s wider ecosystem, which includes staking functions, marketplace features and certificate-based mechanics tied to the DOM token economy.
