ICP sees growing retail accumulation as meaningful wallets rise

The number of ICP wallets holding more than 10 tokens is on the rise, suggesting that retail investors are re‑accumulating at lower price levels. Most of these wallets are managed on the Network Nervous System (NNS), the platform’s governance and staking framework, which allows users to retain control of their tokens rather than relying on custodial services.

Analysts note that wallets on the NNS reflect direct engagement with the network, giving holders the ability to participate in governance and earn staking rewards. By contrast, tokens held on centralised exchanges are stored in custodial wallets, where the user does not directly control the private keys.

The trend indicates renewed confidence among smaller investors, with accumulation patterns pointing to a potential long-term commitment rather than short-term trading. Observers caution that while wallet growth can signal interest, it does not guarantee price stability or market gains, and broader market conditions will continue to influence ICP’s performance.

The data highlights the ongoing appeal of ICP’s decentralised staking model, which encourages holders to actively participate in the network rather than leave assets in exchange accounts. This pattern of accumulation may reflect growing awareness among retail investors of the benefits of maintaining custody of their own tokens.
