Japan’s SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024: Uniting Global Innovators

SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 Global Startup Program is gearing up to be Asia’s largest and Japan’s premier innovation conference, with an expected attendance of over 40,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, including startups, investors, corporations, and student entrepreneurs representing Asia and beyond.

Last year’s City-Tech.Tokyo event saw 26,746 attendees and created over 1,377 business opportunities. This year’s program, scheduled from May 15 to 17, features international conferences with city mayors, networking events for startups, and a Showcase Program offering immersive experiences like virtual reality from April 27 to May 26.

The Showcase Program will be held at four venues in Tokyo’s waterfront area, including the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Koto Ward. Attendees can enjoy test rides of next-generation mobility units, indulge in plant-based alternative meat burgers, attend a lecture by astronaut Soichi Noguchi, and explore other engaging activities.

Partner events within SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 include the Growth Industry Conference 2024, Undiscovered Gems of Japan Gourmet Night, Go Global “NEW NORDIC PITCHING & NETWORKING,” Swisstech Pitch Night, Japan’s Largest Startup Festival – Rocket Pitch Night Spring 2024, and Startup JAPAN 2024. These events further enrich the conference’s offerings, fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth opportunities for participants.

The program aims to create “sustainable new values” through exchanges in ideas and discussions on how to address urban issues commonly faced across the globe. Key themes include demographic change, environmental and energy concerns, aging infrastructure, and the preservation of traditional culture through cutting-edge technologies, diverse ideas, and digital know-how.

Startups across the world, investors, major corporations, delegates from various markets and even enterprising students will participate in speaking sessions, a pitch contest, and exhibit their solutions. Some highlights include a panel session where Yuriko Koike, the Governor of Tokyo, Adi Ignatius, the Editor in Chief at Harvard Business Review, and other representatives from Bloomberg Associates, The Edgeof/Mistletoe, and Suntory Holdings Limited will discuss “Imagining the City of the Future and Innovation.” Other esteemed panelists and speakers include Jen Carter, Global Head of Technology, Google.org, and John Roos, Founding Partner at Geodesic Capital and Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan.

SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 stands for Sustainable High City Tokyo, symbolizing Tokyo’s position in the global technology world. The event aims to be a platform where disruptive innovations that can solve urban city challenges are developed, powering the future not only for Japan but also the rest of the globe.
