Mission 70 vote splits community as decision hangs on thin margin

Fresh commentary from Fabio has drawn attention to the uncertain state of voting on Mission 70, as a large portion of participation remains outstanding.

Posting on X, he noted that around 57 per cent of neuron voting power has yet to be cast. That figure keeps the outcome open, even as early tallies suggest a tight split between “yes” and “no”.

He also addressed concerns from community members who found their votes indirectly cast through delegation. In particular, frustration has emerged after Jerry Banfield voted against the proposal, a decision that extended to those who had assigned their voting power to him. For some, this has prompted calls for more direct participation in proposals that affect tokenomics.

Fabio reiterated that the process remains democratic, while acknowledging that large holders carry considerable influence due to the distribution of supply. Even so, he stressed that individual participation still plays a role, especially with so much voting power yet to be exercised.

He expressed support for the proposal, though his message focused on restraint rather than persuasion. With less than half of the votes counted, he cautioned against drawing early conclusions or reacting to partial results.

The broader context reflects a highly engaged community following developments around the Internet Computer. Questions around voting behaviour, delegation, and participation levels are becoming more visible as the process unfolds.

With the deadline approaching and a majority of votes still uncast, attention now turns to whether remaining participants will step in before the final count is reached.
